How does LocalRAG! handle scanned PDFs?
Scanned PDFs (image-based) are automatically detected and processed with on-device OCR using Apple Vision on iOS or Google ML Kit on Android. The extracted text is then indexed like any other document.
Are there any format limitations I should know about?
Password-protected documents must be unlocked before import. Very large files (100+ MB) may take longer to index. For spreadsheets, complex formulas are not evaluated — only the visible cell values are indexed.
Can I mix different formats in one collection?
Yes. Collections and sub-collections accept any combination of supported formats. You can have PDFs, EPUBs, Word docs, images, and spreadsheets all in the same collection, and query across all of them at once.
Does EPUB support include DRM-protected ebooks?
